1v1 Fighting Game made for April FG Jam 2026

PLOT

A select amount of people across the world go to sleep one day and immediately fall into a coma, leaving their families worried sick as to what could’ve happened. In the dreamworld, they’ve all been abducted by a Deity known as Phantasm who explains to them their current situation, telling them that the only way he’ll grant them freedom from their eternal slumber is to fight in a tournament for their freedom. Everyone has been pulled from the last dream they were in and their powers are dictated by their personal interests and characteristics. In the final version, you’ll face off against Phantasm as a final boss and defeat him, freeing everyone from the dreamworld.

Stages relate to each character and what their mind space looks like.

CHARACTERS

NINJA JOE (JOE COOPER)

White Guy who’s obsessed with anime, ninjas in particular. His avatar is a stickman with a blindfold headband and immense martial arts capabilities. 

HYMN (H’ARMONI EDWARDS)

Black Girl who loves music. She dances on top of this. Breakdance and house in particular. This is incorporated into her moveset. She doesn’t have too many fantastical dreams, so her avatar is simply herself.

This is a 4 button game.

MECHANICS

DREAM METER

Instead of being referred to as super meter, it’s called dream meter. You can even use dream meter to activate select moves

DREAM DASH

Through inputting the dash command mid combo, you have access to a dash cancel which can be canceled into nearly any move

Move costs 1/4 of your Dream Meter

LUCiD ART

Use all of your meter to perform your Lucid Art, a powerful Super Move! You can cancel both Normals and ViSiON's (Specials) into this move

Most Normals cancel into each other, allowing for freeform combos
